Another major protest at Orlando City Hall was announced, and organizers are hoping for a big turnout from the community.
Orlando 50501 announced it will host the next “No Kings Protest” at Orlando City Hall on October 17th from 11am-1pm. It is expected that supporters from all over the surrounding Central Florida region will show up and participate.
The message for No Kings 4 shifts from purely resisting Trump administration policies to empowering voter turnout, encouraging early voting, and supporting election protection efforts ahead of the November 3rd midterm elections, according to the group.
The group explained that the first 50501 protests “were a decentralized rapid response to the anti-democratic and illegal actions” of the Republican Trump administration and its allies. The idea: 50 protests in 50 states on 1 day.
According to the announcement, the Justice and Power Collective (JPC) will be on site, should anyone need assistance in verifying or changing their voter registration.
Orlando 50501 says they are “a non-violent resistance movement that unites people from all walks of life to save democracy and defeat authoritarianism.”
